The Takehara Historical District 

Just 5 minutes from the course and is a must-visit. This quiet and sleepy town is quiet and charming, like stepping back in time with its beautifully maintained Edo-period buildings, many restored as local inns and restaurants, art spaces, and kitsch coffee hangouts. There are also two world-famous sake breweries still in operation today where you can try and buy sake as well as local artisan craft. The town is overlooked by the Shorenji temple which has been designated as a National Important Cultural Property of Japan. 

Top-tip: Allow yourself at least 2 hours to wander around this magical town to soak up its authentic charm and sample some of the local restaurants, the Sake is a must-try and the perfect keepsake!

The Inland sea boasts a whopping 700 islands, so it is no better place to enjoy an afternoon of chartered cruising. Visit the Okunoshima island, otherwise known as Rabbit island where you can find hundreds of wild but adorable rabbits. Fishing charters are also available, the area is well known for its snapper and mackerel fishing. Or if you prefer to just chill and take it easy-- how about a champagne cruise on a luxury boat?
