Aqualine Golf Club in Chiba

Aqualine Golf Club

History
One of the more recently constructed courses in Japan having just opened in March of 1997, it was re-branded from it's original name "The First" to "the AquaLine Golf Club" in 2004 by Accordia Golf. It's architect Kato Shunsuke is noted for designing many great courses here in Japan with the most famous being Taiheyo Gotemba, which is consistently ranked in the top 100 courses of the world and hosted the EMC world Golf in 2002.

The areas hilly terrain presented quite a layout challenge, but Shunsuke did a masterful job utilizing the landscape he had to work with. The finishing 17th and 18th holes are often said to have a similar feel to the world famous Blue Monster's 18th hole at Doral Golf Resort in Miami, Florida utilizing large expanses of water from tee to green and an abundance of formidable bunkers. The location is superb for those living in the central Tokyo, Kawasaki and Yokohama areas as the Aqua Line tunnel allows you easy and quick access to the course.

Facility
Having been built quite recently the club house has all the amenities you needed to relax including onsen like baths with massage chairs and very nice state of the art foot massagers. The restaurants food and beverage offerings are extensive with 14 plus choices on a menu that changes frequently with the seasons. What really sets a nice relaxing tone to this facility is their out door BBQ area that looks over the 18th green! Perfect for small to medium sized groups who want to really enjoy the fresh air in a unique setting.

The practice areas are top notch with a huge multiple tiered immaculately groomed putting green with a full sized bunker to practice your sand game. Slightly detached from the club house is a 14 stall 200yard driving range with lessons available upon request.
