History
So prominent is the reputation of the Lakewood golf course that few Japanese business executives over 50 haven't played there at least once in their business careers! Renowned for its hospitality, fine cuisine and gracious appointments, this club delivers all it promises and more!

Designed by Theodore G. Robinson in 1969 the course fit in well with the natural landscape of the area that included lakes and rolling hills. One of the world's most prominent architects, Ted Robinson is credited with designing and modifying over 170 courses worldwide. His vast portfolio includes such famous courses as Ko Olina Golf Club in Hawaii and Sahalee Country Club in Washington State that is set to host the 31st U.S. Senior Open Championship in 2010. Mr. Robinson only designed 3 courses here in Japan and all three are within the Lakewood Corporations group of courses. The other two courses being Lakewood Akeno in Yamanashi Prefecture and Lakewood Tomioka in Gunma.
